Many DNS administrators postpone DNSSEC implementations because they fear their DNS zones will disappear if a DNSSEC issue should arise. Many of these fears are based on concerns over developments that are new or unknown. Monitoring can help to bring light to this particular form of DNS darkness. With good monitoring, administrators can move away from “flying blind” and take a step towards adopting the right tools to help them “see” what is going on in their DNS.

Ideally, every DNS installation should have some type of monitoring and this is especially true for DNSSEC-secured DNS zones.
