Our Licensing Models

From January 2023, we will be veering away from our perpetual license model over to subscription licenses. Subscription licenses offer much greater flexibility, latest updates and more.

From Perpetual to Subscription license

Our subscription license enables you to use Micetro and services for as long as you pay the annual subscription fee. The subcription model offers more flexibility than a perpetual license and makes it easier for customers to decrease or increase their license size if needed. A subscription license also guarantees that you have the most up to date version of Micetro, as well as access to support.

The old (and somewhat outdated) perpetual license model follows a more traditional licensing model in which the customer owns the license and can use the software indefinitely with one big upfront cost/investment. Enhancements (updates and upgrades) and extra services then come at extra cost, such as upgrades to the newest version of Micetro, or support contracts.

Benefits of a subcription license

As you renew or expand your upcoming license, here are some benefits to consider for a subscription license.

1. More control over your license

With a subscription license, you are free to use Micetro so long as you pay for your subscription, giving you the option to cancel the subscription at any time and thus voiding your access to Micetro after the end of the subscribed period.

2. Easy scalability of license size

When needed, it is easier to decrease and increase the subscription license size. The cost of a license expansion (increase) is significantly lower than it would have been with a perpetual license as there is no longer a big up front cost/payment.

3. Access to the latest version of Micetro

A subscription license guarantees access to the latest version of Micetro, and thus access to all new and improved features along the way, at no extra cost.

4. Access to support services

As part of an active subscription license, our customers have access to our Technical Support Team. These include support for Micetro software, appliances, and connectivity to underlying services.
